In the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, we investigate the effect of "liquid structure" on dynamic processes in liquids and solutions. The "liquid structure" is the spatial ordering of molecules in a liquid. The "open structure" in water due to the hydorogen-bonded network is well-known and the most-interesting example. The Liquid structure is considered to be sensitive to the temperature, the pressure, and the presence of ionic solutions, and the relation between static liquid structures and molecular motion is of special interest. Therefore, our main concern is the pressure effect on the dynamic properties of electrolyte solutions.
We are conducting the following measurements in our laboratry:
| 1. |
Ionic conductance. |
| 2. |
Transference Number. |
| 3. |
Shear viscosity and density. |
| 4. |
Near infa-red spectroscopy. |
| 5. |
Dielectric constant and relaxation. |
| 6. |
NMR relaxation and chemical shift. In addition to experrimental works,we are performing. |
| 7. |
Theoretical investigations based on statistical mechanics. |
| 8. |
Computer simulations of transport properties and chemical reactions. |
